But if I use it the same way on RHEL 8 (dnf backend), it results in error message and the package is not installed.
Pkcon offers -allow-untrusted option to "Allow untrusted packages to be installed." This works fine in RHEL 7 (yum backend). sudo installer -allowUntrusted -verboseR -pkg /path/to/pkg/foo.mpkg.
